Architecture & Construction
For students interested in a career in construction, the Construction Technology Pathway is a great way to get a head start in the industry.
The Architecture and Construction Technology cluster is offered to students at Cedar Creek High School. This fully-equipped facility has many of the latest tools and equipment used in the industry today. Students learn hands-on the skills that help them succeed in this rewarding and expanding field. Students in this cluster are able to attain their 10 hour OSHA certification card that lets potential employers know students have a basic background in safety. Students are also taught using the NCCER curriculum for Construction Technology, which allows students to become NCCER certified, another benefit to potential employers. Students in this cluster have the option of becoming members of the Skills USA chapter at Cedar Creek High School. Members of Skills USA can test their skill level by competing against students across the state in career development contests.
Students who complete the Advanced Construction Technology coursework can earn hours of articulated credit through Austin Community College.
