Lezlie Ringstaff Promoted to Principal at LPE
Lezlie Ringstaff will take the helm at Lost Pines Elementary (LPE) for the 2021-2022 school year. Ringstaff has served as assistant principal at the campus since 2018. She will replace Stacy Trost, who is retiring after 29 years in public education. Ringstaff will start her position effective immediately.
“It has been my joy and my honor to serve LPE as an assistant principal these last three years, and I appreciate the opportunity to now serve as the principal,” said Ringstaff. “We have a tremendous, hardworking staff who all want what is best for our students. We also have a wonderful PTA and other parents who are so involved, and I want to continue that good work to make Lost Pines Elementary the best it can be.”
Ringstaff began her career in 2006 as a second and third grade teacher in the Eagle Mountain-Saginaw ISD. During those eight years she served on both the campus and district improvement committees, was a teacher mentor, and a grade level team leader. In 2014, she transitioned to administration as assistant principal of two elementary schools in Azle ISD. She joined Bastrop ISD in 2015 as an instructional coach for Cedar Creek Elementary where she was responsible for planning and modeling effective lessons for teachers and facilitating professional learning communities for all grade levels.
As assistant principal of LPE since 2018, Ringstaff’s efforts have centered on improving student attendance and behavior, coordinating the campus assessment program, and instituting an effective framework for instructional practices.
“Lezlie has done a superb job as assistant principal at Lost Pines, and I am confident she has the skills and talent to move the campus forward,” said Superintendent Barry Edwards. “She is well versed in the structures and systems of the school and has solid relationships with students, teachers and families that will help the school advance to that next level.”
Ringstaff earned a bachelor of science in interdisciplinary studies from Stephen F. Austin State University in 2005 and a master’s degree in education administration from Tarleton State University in 2011. She and her husband Jordan make their home in Giddings along with their daughter Mabry, who will be a fourth grader at Lost Pines, and three-year-old son Jace.
