• ABOUT ME

Hello! To tell you a little about myself, I am happily married and have two sons, both grown. I am originally from Louisiana, and before my husband retired from the military we lived in many different places, including Texas, Georgia, and Japan.

I previously worked ten years in the banking industry, where my favorite job was teaching new tellers. After deciding to go back to school, I discovered a love for all things Biology and for teaching. I graduated with a Bachelor's of Science from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor (UMHB) in May 2012, where I majored in Cell Biology and minored in Education.

I earned my Texas teaching certificate by completing an internship while teaching Anatomy & Physiology and Forensic Science to high school seniors at University High School in Waco, TX during the 2012-13 school year. I graduated with a Master’s in Education in Curriculum & Instruction with a Biology cognate in December 2013 from UMHB. Following that, I was an adjunct instructor at UMHB teaching Anatomy & Physiology for three semesters.

When a new school called the Colorado River Collegiate Academy was looking for a Biology teacher for the 2014-15 school year, I was thrilled to be chosen for that position, and I have been teaching here ever since.

I am so excited to be part of the BISD team, and look forward to all we can accomplish together this year!
