Hello, CCMS family! My name is Kristina Montez, and I am the 7th grade assistant principal at Cedar Creek Middle School. I have held several positions throughout my career in education in Del Valle ISD, Pflugerville ISD, and Elgin ISD. I spent eight years at the elementary level as a fourth grade teacher, eight years at the middle school level as a sixth grade world cultures teacher, and seven years at the high school level as a ninth grade world geography teacher. I then spent two years as an English and social studies instructional coach before becoming an assistant principal. Having taught at all levels, my heart has always been with middle school, and I knew I’d end up back in a middle school someday. I am incredibly excited to be a part of the Cedar Creek Middle School family!
I grew up in Sugar Land, right outside of Houston, and attended the University of Texas at Austin, where I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Applied Learning and Development. I earned my Master’s degree in Educational Administration from Lamar University. My greatest passions are culture and geography. I am an avid world traveler, having been to twenty countries across five continents, with Australia and Antarctica still to go. So far, my favorite trips have been to Vietnam, Morocco, and Colombia.
