The Student Services Department is committed to providing service-oriented support and resources to the Bastrop ISD community and its stakeholders. The 2024-25 BISD transfer application window runs March 1-22, 2024. You may download and print the application, linked below. Please complete all sections of the form and provide a handwritten signature, in ink. No digital/electronic applications will be accepted this year, due to state reporting guidelines.  Completed forms MUST be turned in at the front reception desk of the BISD Service Center at 906 Farm St., Bastrop, TX 78602, by 5:00 p.m. Friday, March 22, 2024. Late applications will not be accepted.

All families should complete the “Intra-District” transfer application form, regardless of whether you reside in BISD boundaries or a neighboring community (Smithville, Elgin, Lockhart, etc.) In-district or out-of-district residency will be verified after a transfer request is approved.

Families will receive notification of a transfer request approval or denial notification at the email address listed on the transfer application no later than Tuesday, April 30, 2024. Please write legibly to ensure accurate delivery of your decision letter.

Transfers will be considered for children of BISD employees, based on their assigned work location; students zoned to a Public Education Grant (PEG) campus; siblings of a student assigned to a specific campus based on an academic program need; and high school students wishing to enroll in a program of study not offered at their campus of residence. Please note that requesting a transfer for one of these reasons does NOT guarantee approval. The review committee will consider a school’s enrollment capacity, as well as the student’s attendance and discipline history, when making decisions about transfer requests.

Approved transfer requests are for the 2024-25 academic year ONLY. Approvals will not “carry over” to any other academic year. Parents must submit a new application for the 2025-26 academic year, and any subsequent school years, during the annual application window. Approved transfers are not guaranteed for the duration of the academic year, and may be revoked at any time, based on the criteria listed on page 1 of the transfer application. Please be sure to review these criteria with your child, to ensure they act in accordance with the expectations for transfer students.

Due to enrollment capacity, transfer requests to the following campuses will only be approved for children of employees at those campuses:
