The District has an improvement plan that is developed, evaluated, and revised annually, in accordance with District policy, by the Superintendent with the assistance of the District Performance Committee (DPC), a district-level planning and decision-making body. The committee serves exclusively in an advisory role except to approve staff development of a district-wide nature. The DPC is made up of:
- 2/3 classroom teachers
- 1/3 other campus-level professional staff and district-level professional staff
- Minimum of 2 parents
- Minimum of 2 community members
- Minimum of 2 business representatives
- 1 secondary and 1 elementary principal, assistant/associate superintendent, selected directors/managers
The purpose of the District improvement plan is to guide District and campus staff in the improvement of student performance for all student groups in order to attain state standards with respect to the academic excellence indicators.
