2025-2026 Proposed Attendance Zones

  • As Bastrop ISD continues to grow, adjustments to school boundaries will remain necessary. These changes ensure we can continue providing the best learning environments and opportunities for all our students. Current district boundaries are drawn for eight elementary schools and two middle schools; the new boundaries will factor in a ninth elementary school and the transition of our two intermediate schools into two additional middle schools.

BISD held multiple meetings with District leadership, campus leadership and Zonda, the District's demographer, earlier in the Fall to consider current and future attendance boundaries and to create a draft of the new boundary lines presented below. In December, the District shared the proposed boundaries with families and the community, and held two public town hall events for individuals to ask questions and share feedback.

The goal was to create school boundaries that are balanced in terms of student population, minimize neighborhood disruption, and that factor in transportation routes and needs. Once approved, the proposed boundary lines will take effect in the fall of 2025.

    UPDATE
Thank you to all of our families, staff and community for attending our town hall events and providing feedback! Following public input and consideration, the District has made additional changes to the proposed boundaries and will seek approval from the Board of Trustees on January 21. Once the new boundaries are approved, all elementary and middle school families will receive direct communication with specific details regarding their assigned school zones.
